Convince another educator or principal of the importance of QR codes or ipads in an educational setting.
Dear Principle,
Hello, I am currently a Richard Stockton student. I would like to inform you on a technology that can be extremely beneficial in a classroom setting. The Ipad has many different functions from taking pictures to a calculator to even a calander. The Ipad is a piece of technology that draws the attention of children to keep them more engaged. The Ipad has thousands of educational apps along with apps that are useful in every day life. Ipads have specific apps to help special needs children learn. There are apps with pictures and big words to help the children learn. There are apps that speak to you and help you communicate. The apps help in a way a teacher cannot sometimes. The learning is easier in a way for children to extend there attention spans on learning. This piece of technology will draw students to want to learn. This technology is not only beneficial to the students but the teachers as well. I think every school should take into great consideration on purchasing Ipads to benefit their students and staff.
Sincerely,
Brittney Lyon
Student at Richard Stockton College

Be Patient
One thing that I have learned most with teaching is that patients is key. You need to have patients because the students have to feel comfortable so they are able to learn. Setting rules and sticking to them will be balance out how to behave in a classroom setting. When the teacher is calm the student is more likely to act calm. Being that I want to be an elementary school teacher I believe that is a very important characteristic I need to always have.
Do Not Judge
You should never judge a book by its cover. That is probably the first thing I have learned. You should allow yourself to get to know someone before you make an assumption about them. In first and second grade which I hope to teach in the future, I believe you need to teach the children right from wrong as soon as it is possible. Being in elementary school these will be many of there first times occurring. I learned that you want the children to branch off and explore. You want them to make as many friends as they can.
Every Child is Special
I've learned that every child is important. You need to pay attention to all of your students. If you do not you can miss something important, for example, an eye sight problem. A teacher needs to treat all of her students exactly the same. No favoriting any student. You need to put the child's needs first. If you need to come up with a different way to teach a student because they don't understand then that i your responsibility.
Listening is Essential to Learning
When I was in elementary school I remember many of the kids were distracted. They did not listen to must, they were always moving to look at something more interesting at the moment. Elementary school is difficult because this is were children form their opinions on anything and everything. When the students are engaged to want to learn then they will listen and listening is a major factor in learning.
Every Student has a Voice
Along with listening to the teachers in elementary school you also have to be able to communicate with them. I was very shy when I was a child and I would always stay in the back corner. When a student feels outted then that will affect the students learning. Each student needs to express themselves so they find that comfort with talking in a classroom. It is extremely important for all children to participate and be involved to help shape there personalities and characteristics for the future.

Write a review of a technology product you might use in the classroom.
One piece of technology in a classroom setting that I believe is extremely useful is the Ipad. It is very easy for the children to learn. The Ipad is also accessibly to an external keyboard if perffered. It keeps the child engaged because children love technology. For example your nieces or nephews are probably always on your smart phone or tablet. What you can do on the Ipad is limitless. The Ipad allows not only children in a regular level classroom to learn but also children with disabilities. There is a great range of apps to chose and learn from. The Ipad is light weight and easy for a child to carry around. It can potentially be interacted as such apps may speak to the child. Having an Ipad in a school setting potentially saves money because an app is less expensive than a textbook. My point is paper would probably cost more then the app. I am the owner of the Ipad and it makes college a lot more simple. I believe if students were given this technology at a young age they would learn even more than I have. Children are always eager to embrace new technology, especially in a classroom setting.

Today we learned how to make a Google site. I thought that it was very fascinating and interesting to be able to create. It amazes me how much technology has evolved and all that you can do with it. I love being able to custom design my page exactly how I want it. It was a little hard to keep up with following being new to this certain Google site. Cropping my picture was probably the hardest thing to do. It was a little confusing but I love that I have my own page and can use it in the future with teaching.
The Google blog is still confusing to me but I think once I play around with it a little more I will get the hang of it. I have never blogged before so I am kind of excited to do so. I am excited to customize my blog a little more once I have the time to figure out how to use it. This class grabs my attention and makes me want to learn more.
I did feel over whelmed with learning all the new material. I was glad that there were classmates around me to help with what I missed. I do believe I need more help with creating more fascinating things to put on my blog and Google site. I look forward to next weeks class.
